Postcard: Yala National Park, Sri Lanka

If you were to believe only all the Instagram posts for Sri Lanka, you’d think it’s all about the beaches, the sunsets and the coconuts. But, that’s far from true.

Yala National Park in Sri Lanka is the country’s most popular national park. The park has the highest density of Leopards in the world. While it also has 43 other mammals including 12 horned reindeer, elephants, Wild Water Buffalos, Sloth bears.

Leopards are extremely rare to spot, so when I visited Yala- you can imagine my excitement to see them. We went on two Safari trips there- and were lucky enough to spot 3 different leopards- in 3 completely different moods!

I bought this postcard from the little shop in the hotel we stayed at.
