Fall Winter 19 Trends

A lot of time, mostly for work (I’m a PR, if you didn’t know), I end up researching a lot about upcoming trends, things that might or might not work for the clients I work on and ways to keep the brands we represent on top of all editorial minds. And since most international brands do not allow regional press releases, we work on press blasts.

One such press release that I worked on most recently was a collection of upcoming FW19 trends.

Welcoming the Fall/Winter 2019 season, there is a whole host of new trends to have on your radar – from purple hues to fluorescent flashes, and dark florals to checks on checks and more checks. The roundup includes this season’s top trends, with selections from fashion, beauty and interior brands. including LOEWE, Moynat Paris, PAULE KA, de Grisogono, Givenchy Beauty, Silsal Design House, Tutus Kurniati and The Rug Company

PURPLE REIGN

It’s time to make room for a new hue. Purple is the color of the future as seen on the runways of FW 2019. From light pastels to deep plums, mauves, and magenta variations, embrace the color that is making its presence known.

DARK ROMANCE

Think of this trend as a less obvious take on Victorian. Floral prints, laces and frills – totally worth it for this season’s wardrobe.

CHECKS ON CHECKS

Boucle, Tweed and Checks are back on the fashion menu and particularly in bigger jacket and bag form. If you’re in love with check and tartan prints, you won’t resist to a checked printed coat’s timeless charm.

FLUORESCENT FLASHES

Neon might have been a big trend for summer 2019 but is certainly not leaving autumn and winter. So, don’t go packing away your summer brights when the colder weather comes.

OTT FLUFF

“It’s so fluffy” …Undoubtedly the most prominent trend to come out of the autumn/winter 2019. Alternative fur trend is generating fluffy things for every part of your look. Hairbands, coats or shoes – it’s all fluffy!

POWER-PUFF SHOULDERS

There is a puff-sleeve personality for everyone. Puffy sleeves were a big trend but now they are bigger than ever. It invited all of us to feel like princesses—or at least, to dress in a way through our dresses, our blouses and our sweaters.

SEASONAL SPARKLE

Sparkles, glitter and sequins are all must-haves for the 2019’s party wardrobe. Think Christmas-party-dressing looks even if it’s only a September dinner you are planning for.

SUPERSIZED BAGS

Tiny totes are nice but enormous totes are on trend! This is probably one of the most useful trends of the season – for once, you will be able to house everything you need.

Walk-in Wardrobes you can live in!

Day-dreaming and looking for interior goals seem to be my favourite hobby, that I didn’t know I was so fond of. So while looking for inspirations of what my wardrobe would like, if you know I had the money to turn a whole room (or two) into a wardrobe, I stumbled upon some beautiful walk-in wardrobes that you could literally live in.

Keep it clean and simple: Swatiness- Walk in Wardrobes 26

Pinterest Bathtub Goals

I’m suffering from PMS cramps and all I can think of is making myself a nice long bath, but I terribly hate taking long baths when I’m bleeding. It might be soothing to some, it’s just in general icky for me.

So, while I can’t take a bath, I can certainly sit here and dream about one. Pinterest, obviously, has my muse sorted. So, while I look at these baths and order a ton from Lush here’s some bath inspiration:

Chic Interior Inspiration – Manzil Downtown

Housed in a building with sand-hued facades and traditional Arabic architecture, the Manzil Downtown is an upscale boutique hotel designed in a contemporary Islamic style. Like its home city of Dubai, it is a fusion of tradition and modern sophistication, a blend of the old and the new.

Geometric motifs used in Islamic art influenced much of the property’s interior. The elegant lobby is set out in warm, earthy tones, and illuminated by natural light seeping through the soaring windows. Subtle traditional accents are featured throughout the furniture, carpets and art, while striking views of the iconic Burj Khalifa add a touch of grandeur.

Arabesque patterns served as the inspiration behind the stunning two-story-high back-lit feature wall in the hotel’s lobby. The eight-meter-long runner in the lobby was inspired by patterns used in kilim rugs, which have been produced since ancient times in the Muslim world, combined with the textures and colours of Dubai’s deserts and skies.

The hotel’s rooms are a perfect blend of form and function, featuring comfortable m furniture with arabesque details. The colour palette used in the guest rooms is a balance of warm and cool tones, featuring walnut timber and grey textured fabrics. The artworks in the guest rooms are integrated with the overall design, featuring large leatherettes printed with Arabic letters in contemporary form. The fitted carpets are custom designed and inspired by geometric patterns.

The Manzil’s signature restaurant, Boulevard Kitchen, is divided into three distinct sections – a café, a dining area, and a deli bar. Combining Arabic tradition with global multicultural tastes, the restaurant is adorned with laser-cut metal panels and features intricate floors with Arabesque geometric patterns.

Inspired by the traditional courtyards of old Arabia, the courtyard is the heart of the property offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city to mingle with friends and family. The patterns and textures used throughout the courtyard showcase a contemporary take on the Bedouin look with the colour palette being slightly stronger as compared to other areas. The seating concept is inspired by the traditional dewan and features a mix of clean contemporary line seating and comfortable sofa and armchair groups.

Niche seating groups are also available for private gatherings with a traditional majlis setting with a modern twist. Custom designed chandeliers add to the ambience, creating beautiful patterns on the walls.

Instagrammable Home-Office Spaces from Pinterest

Every time that I sit on my desk at home, I gloat over the fact that it looks so organized- at least for the first 15 minutes I’m sitting there. Then it becomes a giant mess of a lot of things. And in the chaos of cleaning and organizing, I end up on pinterest- ALMOST EVERY SINGLE TIME.

So I put together a bunch of desk inspirations that are my favorite desk ideas- at least for today! Which ones your favorite out of the bunch below?
